Sydney-based independent agency Murmur Group has been appointed by Blacktown Animal Rehoming Centre (BARC) to lead the strategic and media efforts for the launch of their $36.1 million state-of-the-art centre, launching in 2023. 

BARC is the first custom-built rehoming centre in Australia which will replace the Council’s 40-year-old Animal Holiday Facility in Blacktown offering a range of services. The updated centre will be the first of its kind in Australia and one of the largest in the Southern Hemisphere. 

The new centre will be a place for the community to visit and adopt animals and will be able to re-home over 10,000 animals each year. It will also have the capacity to handle the requirements of Blacktown City and many other councils well into the future.

Managing Director of Murmur Group, Dave Levett said: “The Blacktown Animal Rehoming Centre is going to change the face of animal ownership and animal care in Sydney. The scope for the centre and the people of Western Centre is undeniable, and improving animal care is a goal that we want to help the team work towards.”

Murmur has been working closely with BARC over the past few months to ensure the marketing plan and strategy are well organised ahead of this year’s activity.
